Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how InHand CTC (https://inhandctc.in/) handles information when you use the Site. We designed the calculator with data minimisation in mind: salary inputs are meant to stay on your device.
We aim to follow the spirit of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and related IT laws. This page is plain-language information, not legal advice.
1. What we do not collect for the calculator
- No account, login, name, email, or phone is required to calculate
- Your CTC, basic %, regime, state, and EPF choices are processed in your browser with JavaScript
- We do not operate a salary database that stores your CTC or in-hand results from the calculator form
- Closing the tab clears those inputs from the calculator UI
2. What may be processed technically
Like most websites, when you visit the Site your browser contacts our hosting / CDN provider (currently GitHub Pages or similar). That infrastructure may automatically process standard technical data such as:
- IP address
- Browser type, device, and approximate location derived by the host
- Pages requested, timestamps, and security logs
We do not use that infrastructure as a place to store your CTC inputs. Hosting providers process such logs under their own terms for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
3. Cookies and analytics
As of the date above, InHand CTC does not use advertising cookies or a third-party marketing pixel. The calculator itself does not need cookies to run.
If we later add privacy-respecting analytics (for example aggregate page views), we will update this Policy and, where required, provide notice or choice.
4. Fonts and third-party resources
The Site may load fonts from Google Fonts. When that happens, Google may receive your IP address and related request data under Google’s policies. You can block third-party requests in your browser if you prefer.
5. Purpose of any processing
Any limited technical processing exists only to:
- Deliver the Site and keep it secure
- Understand aggregate usage (if analytics are added later)
- Respond to abuse or legal requests where required by law
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share calculator salary inputs with advertisers because we do not collect them on a server. Hosting providers and (if added) analytics vendors may process technical visit data as described above.
7. Retention
Calculator inputs are not retained by us in a salary database. Hosting logs, if any, are retained by the provider according to their practices and then deleted or rotated.
8. Your choices and rights
Because we do not require an account and do not store your CTC on our servers, there is typically no salary profile for us to correct or erase. You can stop using the Site at any time. Depending on applicable law (including the DPDP Act where it applies), you may have rights to access, correction, erasure, or grievance redress for personal data we actually hold.
9. Children
The Site is aimed at adults evaluating employment offers. It is not directed at children under 18.
10. International access
The Site may be served from servers outside India via CDN. By using the Site you understand that technical visit data may be processed in those locations as needed to deliver the page.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
12. Contact / grievance
For privacy questions or grievances, open an issue at github.com/hisariaraunak/InHandCTC/issues until a dedicated contact email is published on this Site. We will update this section when a formal grievance contact is available.
